Manukau Stadium was purposely built for Greyhound racing, and the Club held its first race meeting at the new track on December the 18th 1989.

The Public viewing areas consist of a glassed in Grandstand, behind which is a large lounge and dining area with seating, bar, and catering facilities.

Initial racing was on a turf surface, but in 1999 the Club converted the track to an all weather sand and loam surface.

Sprinters, Middle Distace, and Staying dogs, are catered for, with races over the 318, 527, 603, and 779 metre distances. We also cater for Hurdlers with races run over the 527 metres.

The track utilises a Bramich Hare Lure running on the inside rail.

Distances are measured from the middle of the starting boxes to the finish line following a 1 metre offset from the inner rail.

Official Surveyed Distances:

317.33 metres,
527.53 metres
603.23 metres

Circumferance 1 metre out: 466.77 metres

Circumferance at inner rail: 460.48 metres
